Wayne Sides

Michael Wayne Sides, 56, of Kannapolis, N.C. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 4, 2022. Wayne was born to Larry Sides and the late Terry Compton Sides on April 28, 1966 in Cabarrus County.

Wayne enjoyed being with friends and family as well as generously sharing his craftsmanship skills and time to help anyone who asked. He had a deep passion for old cars and trucks, specifically his 1955 Chevrolet truck. Wayne also had a love for animals and had many who were waiting to greet him at the gates with doggy kisses and wagging tails (Suede, Oreo, Bear, Harley, Toby, Jill, and China).

Wayne was preceded in death by: his mother, Terry Kay Compton Sides, and infant sister, Tiffany Renee Sides. He is survived by: his son, Tyler Sides of Kannapolis, his father Larry Sides (Libby) of Landis, his life partner, Starr Adams of Kannapolis, his step daughters, Alexis Parson-Adams of Salisbury, and Kelly Russ Miller (Matthew) of China Grove, a sister, Joy Sides Carelock of Kannapolis, his aunt Brenda Garrigus (William) of Kannapolis, cousins: Roger Romeo, Tony Romeo (Kelly), Carrie Gentry (Parker, Chloe), Jessica Yates (Steve), and his fur babies, Khloe and Rhylan.

Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, December 10, 2022 beginning at 1:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. A procession will follow to the burial site at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, N.C.
