Garry Wayne Deaton, 72, of Kannapolis passed away October 2, 2021. He was born February 14, 1949 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late John Earl Deaton and Bernice Donahue Deaton.  He was in preceded in death by a brother Bernard Deaton, Sisters Johnsie Farmer and Debra Long.

Wayne was a self-employed truck driver most of his  life. He enjoyed trucks and riding motorcycles. Wayne also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wayne’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Gene Edwards. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, Oct. 8th at Whitley’s Funeral Home.

Wayne is survived by two sons, Kenneth Deaton (Shirlene) and Chad Deaton, grandchildren, Emily, Anthony, Justin, great grandchildren, Piper, Charley and his brother, Ronald Deaton.
