Watt Jerry Rogers

Watt “Jerry” Rogers, 73, of China Grove, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 25, 2022.  Jerry was born on December 11, 1948 in Mooresville, NC to the late Watt Junior and Claudine Griffin Rogers.

Jerry loved his family, his dogs and classic cars.  He loved music and playing guitar.  Jerry was a self-educated engineer who made other people’s ideas happen and could figure out how things would be put together.  Jerry retired from the 1st Baptist Church in Kannapolis, but also worked in the past for the 1st Baptist Church in China Grove as well as Kannapolis Church of God.

Besides being predeceased by his parents, Jerry is predeceased by his son, Scott Rogers.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Loretta Bernard Rogers; his sons, Phil Rogers and his wife Peggy and Nathan Rogers and his wife Kayla; his sister, Gloria Beaver and her husband Melvin; his grandchildren, Heath Rogers and his wife Candice, Mathew Rogers, Shay House, Josh Rogers and Kyley Rogers, and his great granddaughters, Audrey and Katelyn Rogers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 12-1pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 1pm in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Jerry’s memorial.
