Obituary

Vivian Wray Garrison Spears, 96, of Landis died Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 28 at First United Methodist Church in Landis with Rev. Holly D. Evensen officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Her family will receive friends at the Church from 10 to 11:00 AM.

Vivian was born December 20, 1925 in Iredell Co., the daughter of the late Harvey A. and Alice McGee Garrison. In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Spears and two grandsons, Kenny Griswald and Kenneth Wright. Vivian was raised in Landis, joining 1st United Methodist Church of Landis when she was 12 and graduating from Landis High School in 1942. She was a Winder in the Linn-Corriher Mill until she retired.

Those who are remaining to cherish her memory include her son, Gilbert Wayne Spears (Gail) of Gastonia and her daughter, Robin Wright (Kenneth) of China Grove as well as 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
