Vickie Dunn Obituary

Vickie Dianne Steen Dunn, 70, formerly of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Thursday evening, January 26, 2023, at Cary Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident.

Born March 14, 1952, in Cabarrus County, Vickie was the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Donahue Steen. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carl Wayne Dunn.

Vickie was a 1970 graduate of A.L. Brown High and had earlier worked for Cannon Mills Towel Distribution. She later worked for Child Care Resources Incorporated, where she was a dedicated and talented secretary. She loved NASCAR, had an affinity for chickens and roosters, enjoyed crocheting, and loved colored pencil art, at which she was very gifted. Vickie was always teaching other residents at the center new technology and was willing to help anyone she could. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her sons, Nicholas Dunn (Linda) and Miles Dunn; her brother, Mike Steen (Lynn); grandson, Christopher Wayne Dunn (Sally); her niece, Kim Dunn and brother-in-law, Ed Dunn.

Memorial graveside services will be held at an upcoming date.

For those who prefer, memorials may be made in Vickie’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
