Stephen Heard Grant, Jr.

Stephen Heard Grant, Jr. 74 of Concord went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House following a period declining health.

Stephen was born March 10, 1945 in Williamsburg County, S.C. a son of the late Stephen Heard Grant, Sr. and the late Lucille Strong Grant. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Billy and Kenny Grant and one sister, Daisy Mae Grant.

Stephen was a member of Georgetown, SC. Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea. He was employed as a risk management officer for First Charter until his retirement. He was the owner/operator of Complete Mobile Home Service.

 A Memorial service will be3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Gary Morris. Inurnment will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.

Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years; Phyllis Therrell Grant, two sons, Robert Therrell of Lexington and James Therrell of Mt. Pleasant, a brother, James Grant of Las Vegas and nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in Lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County, 2010 Wilshire Ct SW, Concord, NC 28025.
