Ruth (Higdon) Smith

Ruth Octavia Adaline Higdon Smith, of Kannapolis NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at around 2 in the afternoon on March 27, 2020. Mrs. Smith was born on Christmas Eve, 1925 in Cad, GA and was 94 years of age at the time of her death.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years Donald W. Smith; mother, Ethel Octavia Tankersley Higdon; father, Samuel Gordon Higdon; son, Willie Curtis Helms; daughters, Phyllis Ann Brawley and Donna Ellen Smith; brothers, Samuel Edward Higdon, William Howard Higdon, Jesse Lee Higdon and Thomas Wayne Higdon, Sisters, Edith Blanche Strider, Betty Jean Fowler, Linda Sue Sexton and Carol Ann Higdon.; grandson,William Christopher Helms.

Survived by her son, Paul Smith and Carol of FL and grandchildren, Tim, Melissa and Dezarae Smith of Ohio.

A private graveside service will be held in Carolina Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local food bank.
