Ruby Agnes Parker

Ruby Agnes Digh Parker, 95, entered into eternal Glory with her Lord and Savior, September 22, 2022. Born May 7, 1927 in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ed “Buddy” and Dora “Dodo” Digh.

Ruby will be forever remembered as a woman who deeply loved her family and her church, Parkwood Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She taught Sunday School for over 35 years at Parkwood. Ruby loved to sew and going on trips with the Seniors and her Sunday School class. She also played piano and loved cooking. During her working years, Ruby worked at Belk, did alterations at night, and did taxes.

Her memory will be cherished by those she has left behind, including her children, Dwight Parker, Jr. and wife Kay of Kannapolis, Larry Parker and wife Delaine of Carolina Beach, Susan Nunn and husband James of Kannapolis, Stuart Parker of Mt. Pleasant, Leigh Ann Sells and husband Jim of Mt. Pleasant, and Carl Parker of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, Anna, Bryan, Alyson, James, Rebecca, and Jamie; ten great grandchildren, Stella, Ruby, Oliver, Jordan, Tristan, Talia, Ethan, Jaxon, Landon, and Tracyn.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dwight J. Parker, Sr. and her son, Edgar Parker.

A funeral service to honor Ruby’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 26, 2022 at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Drive, Concord. Revs. Michael Waters and Darrell Coble will officiate. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church Monday.
