Obituary

Ronald Lee Hill, also known as Ronnie, passed away on September 3, 2023, at the age of 72, in Kannapolis, NC. He was born on August 11, 1951, in Iredell County. Ronnie was a God-fearing man who loved his family dearly. He was married to the love of his life for 46 years and raised two wonderful children who went on to start their own families. Ronnie found endless joy in his three grandsons.
Sports were a significant part of Ronnie's life, and he was a loyal fan of the UNC Tar Heels and the Atlanta Braves. He had an unwavering love for these teams. Ronnie had a successful career at Cannon Mills and KCI. He dedicated himself to his work and made a positive impact in his profession.
Ronnie attended South Rowan High School, where he graduated in 1969.
In his free time, Ronnie enjoyed playing softball and going hunting and fishing with his close friend Rick Plummer. These hobbies brought him great happiness and provided opportunities for cherished memories.
A funeral service to celebrate Ronnie's life will be held on Sunday, September 10th, at 3:00 PM in the Annex building of Whitley's Funeral Home. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Pastors Joey Spry and Johnny Stirewalt will be officiating the service and offer their support to the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to either the Tucker Hospice House of Cabarrus County or Fisher St Baptist Church. These organizations held special meaning to Ronnie.
Ronnie is survived by his loving spouse, Gail Hill, and his children, Jamie Hill (Connie & Drew) and Mandy Overcash (Jason, Bryson, Kinston). He is also survived by his brother, Kenny Hill (Jean), and his mother, Frances Hill. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hill, his mother-in-law, Betty Bernard, and his father-in-law, James Page.
Ronnie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to his passions will forever be remembered.
