Robert K. Simpson

Robert K. Simpson, 83 of Kannapolis went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 18, 2023, from Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 23 at Whitley’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Wednesday.

Robert was born on October 11, 1939, in Indian Trail NC, a son of the late Bainer M. and Louise Helms Simpson. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by all his brothers and their spouses; Bill Simpson and Hazeline, Kenneth Simpson and Glenda, Charles Simpson and Brenda and his sister, Helen Simpson.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Elliott Simpson, his son, Scott Simpson (Sandra) of Jacksonville FL. his daughter, Dana Campbell (Rick) of Concord and his step-son, Michael Eudy (Brooke) of Monroe as well as grandchildren Jamie and Steven Campbell and Brandon Eudy and great-grandchildren, Mason, Rylee and Jaxon Campbell. Robert is also survived by his sisters, Gaynell Crainshaw and Margaret Blackwelder (Dennis) both of Kannapolis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was a longtime Kannapolis resident and member of Sharon Baptist Church. He was always a hardworking Salesman. He worked for Bitsy Bakery, S&D Coffee, numerous Auto dealers and lastly Liberty Life Insurance in Salisbury. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; who will be dearly missed.
