Robert Banks Campbell, 96, of Kannapolis passed away on March 20, 2021 at his home. He was born September 28, 1924 in Rowan County, a son of the late Howard and Katie Overcash Campbell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Cooke Campbell and daughter in law, Shirley Howell Campbell.
Robert worked for Central Distributing Co. for over 50 years where he drove a tanker transport hauling fuel. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army. He was a member of the VFW. He was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church. He also loved to farm, fish and deer hunt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at St. Enoch Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Dale Cline. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends prior at the church from 12:30 to 2:00 PM.
He is survived by a son, Walter Campbell of Kannapolis, daughter, Joan Campbell Pharr (Ron) of Chapel Hill, grandchildren, Karen, Barry, Jonathan and Andrew, great grandchild, Caroline and brother, Dallas Campbell (Kaye) of Kannapolis.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Robbin Huneycutt and Denise Head for their love and care shown to him and the family.
