Richmond "Richie" Eugene Cook, Jr.

Richmond “Richie” Eugene Cook, Jr., 81 years old of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 9, 2023.  Richie was born on November 23, 1941, in Cabarrus County to the late Richmond Eugene and Lola Vernice Raymer Cook.

Richie was the owner of Southern Industrial Tire in Concord, NC for 30 + years.  He was a very giving man, who would help anyone in need.  Richie loved cars, NASCAR, hunting, all sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a huge gun enthusiast.

Richie was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Bassinger Cook in 1990 and his sister, Nancy Harrison.  Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Russell E. Cook and his wife Marian, Richard E. Cook and his wife Pam, and Ricky V. Cook and his wife Connie; his sister, Wanda Cruse and her husband Bud; his grandsons, Brett Cook, Garrick Cook and his wife Natalie, Cameron Cook, and Dawson Cook; and his great grandchildren, Savannah, Jackson, and Parker Cook.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 1-2pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  A memorial service celebrating his life will follow at 2pm in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating.
