Reverend Dr. Harry Truman Ferguson

Reverend Dr. Harry Truman Ferguson, 75, of China Grove, NC went home to be with his Savior on September 17, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Harry was born September 26, 1945 in Union County, NC to the late Rev. E.M. Ferguson and the late Ethel Helms Ferguson. Harry attended Winecoff High School. He went on to receive his Master of Arts in Theology in May 1996, Doctor of Ministry on May 14, 2000, Doctor of Theology on July 1, 2006, and Doctor of Divinity on August 6, 2011.

He was the Pastor of Vision Baptist Church in Rockwell and has pastored several other churches in the area for 45 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served during Vietnam. He received numerous citations, awards, and ribbons for his honorable service. He enjoyed fishing at High Rock Lake with his father-in-law, Bill Key and brother-in-law, Mike Key.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rev. Robert L. Ferguson, Paul Eugene Ferguson, Bobby W. Ferguson, Helen Ferguson Sloop, and Peggy Lee Alexander; brother-in-law David Sloop, and sisters-in-law, Dean P. Ferguson, Julia B. Ferguson, and Diane Ferguson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 54 years, Judy K. Ferguson; son, Rev. Michael Keith Ferguson and wife, Lucy Ferguson; two grandchildren, Yasmine Jade Ferguson and Noelle Lilliana Ferguson; sister, Becky (Herman) Blackwell and brother, Smiley Ferguson.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21 at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Keith Ferguson officiating. The family will visit with friends after the service has concluded.
