Raymond Fowler

Mr. Raymond Fowler, age 71 was born in Burlington N.C on June 14, 1951, to the late Thomas Fowler and late Susie Mae Fowler. He quietly departed this earthly life on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at his home.

He received his formal education in the Alamance County School System and was a 1971 graduate from Williams High School.  Raymond was a proud retiree of Hilbish- Ford where he worked several years in the body shop department.

Raymond never met a stranger and really loved being around family and friends talking, joking, dancing, and sharing fond memories. His laugh was very distinctive and will be greatly missed.

Although Raymond’s health started to decline, he made sure his dogs, Blue and Panther were fed daily. He spent hours outside talking to them. These dogs really were this man’s best friend!

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Susie, wife, Joyce Fowler. Daughter, Tefara. Brothers and sisters, John, Betty, Carrie, Helen, Grace, and Dorothy.

Those left to forever cherish his memories are: Loving and devoted daughter, Candis Grier-Hair (Franco), of the home. Brothers and sisters, Clinton Fowler (Minister Shirley), Robert Fowler, Bishop Lewis Fowler (Sherri), George Fowler, Alphonso Fowler (Martha), Louise Harvey, Lena Williams, Vickie Morrow, and Pattie Fowler. Grandchildren, Tiera Grier, Jocelyn Slaughter (Ricardo), Kamari Cadet, Jerzi Torrence, Nolen Torrence and Kanelia Hair. Mother-in- Law, Annie Grier. Nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The family will recieve friends from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Whitley's Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Whitley's Funeral  Home with Bishop Lewis Fowler officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Bethpage United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 8701 Mooresville Rd., Concord, NC 28027.
