Raymond Eugene Argabright

Raymond Eugene (Gene) Argabright, 86, of Kannapolis, went to be his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital after several years of declining health.

Raymond was born May 22, 1936 in Vinton, Ohio. He was the son of Ish and June Argabright.
Raymond was raised in Ohio, until he was 18 when he joined the military. He has been a long-time resident of Kannapolis, moving to the area in 1975 after retiring from the Air Force as a technical sergeant. While serving in the military he was stationed at many bases overseas including Guam, Vietnam, Turkey and Okinawa. Raymond also retired from IBM in Charlotte in 1993 as a programmer. He enjoyed playing sports all throughout his lifetime from basketball, fastpitch softball, tennis and most recently enjoyed horseshoes with the Cabarrus County Ringers. He was a member of Blackwelder Baptist Church in Kannapolis.

Those left to cherish his memory including his children Vickie Beach (Jamie), Jill Argabright, Jay Argabright (Sherri) and Mark Argabright (Tanya); grandchildren Craig Argabright, Amber Troglin, Jessica Sechler, Katlynn Moore, Brady Argabright, Lane Argabright, Chase Argabright; great grand children Paisley and Barret Sechler; sisters Velma Williams, Judy Perry and Paula Saunders(Keith); along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 6pm Friday, July 1st  at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel in Kannapolis, Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at 5:00 PM. Military burial service will follow at a later date in Vinton, Ohio.
