Patsy Ann Smith Archer

Patsy Ann Smith Archer, age 87, passed away on 10-28-19 at Universal Health Care in Concord, NC.  She was born in Kannapolis, NC on 11-27-1931 to Willie L. Childers Smith and Hoyt Silven Smith.  She graduated from J.W. Cannon High School and immediately went to work at The Daily Independent in Kannapolis as a typesetter.  Ms. Archer worked at the newspaper in various roles for 50 years as it later merged with the Concord Tribune to become the Independent Tribune.

Ms. Archer was a loving mother, daughter, friend and neighbor.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, sister, Phyllis S. Hunter, and son, Gerald G. Archer.

Ms. Archer is survived by her son, Bobby E. Archer of Mocksville, NC, brother-in-law, James Hunter of Sugar Land, Texas as well as niece and nephew, David Hunter and Jana Jackson, also of Sugar Land, Texas.

A burial will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday,  November 1, 2019 in Carolina Memorial Park .
