Patricia "Pat" Ann (Goodman) Rogers

Patricia “Pat” Ann Goodman Rogers, 73, of Kannapolis went into her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

Pat was born on November 24, 1946 in Cabarrus County to the late Rev. Eugene Goodman and Alta Jewel McSwain Goodman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Becky Redmond and Carole Annette Goodman.

Pat fulfilled her calling as a teacher assistant for Cabarrus County School System. She truly touched the lives of countless students. She was a long-time member of Parkwood Baptist Church. In her free time, Pat enjoyed spending her summers camping with family at Buck Hill Campground in the mountains of Newland, NC. Pat was lovingly known as “Nana” and adored her granddaughter, Zoe, more than anything in the world.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 51 years, Ray Rogers; son, Rodney Rogers and wife Susan; granddaughter, Zoe Rogers; sister, Shelia Lear; niece, Leslie Collier; nephew, Bobby Lear, and mother-in-law, Nancy Slattery.

A funeral service honoring Pat’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Waters officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
