Patricia "Fody" Mae (Boone) Gulledge

Patricia “Fody” Mae Boone Gulledge, 75, of Kannapolis, went to be with her father and family in heaven  on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at her residence.

Fody was born on November 24, 1947 in Darlington Co., SC. She was a cherished daughter of the late John Boone and Rosa Dixon Boone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Hinson, Shirley Jackson, Frances Skipper, and Zelma Woods; and brothers, James “Ottis” Boone, Buddy, Elijah, and Homer Boone.

Fody spent her career working as a housekeeper for Atrium Health. She had a passion for singing gospel and was a member of the Gospel for Highlighters. Fody was able to travel to many places with her gospel group. Her love for flowers kept her spending time outside tending to her garden. She also enjoyed shopping at Walmart. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and dogs, Alby, Candy, and Little Girl. She was a kind and Godly lady that will be dearly missed by her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Walter James Gulledge Jr. (Judith), daughter, Becky Bailey; brother, Dennis Wayne Hancock; numerous loving nieces and nephews, special thanks to her nieces, Rhonda Hancock, and Donna Hammonds; and granddaughter, Chloe Sartain.

Her funeral will be held at­­­­­­­ 12:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral with Rev. Randy Tucker and Rev. Doug McGee officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 11:00 -12:00 PM at Whitley’s prior to the funeral.
