Patricia Eugenia (Mullis) Kidd

Patricia Eugenia Mullis Kidd, 85, of Kannapolis, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Tucker Hospice House.

She was born November 7, 1937 in Mecklenburg County, NC, the youngest daughter of Thomas Lee Mullis and Lena Caudle Mullis.

She was employed many years with Cannon Mills Co. prior to an early retirement. She enjoyed spending time at the beach with her husband of 59 years, family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and the senior’s church groups. She was an active member and faithful to her church, Central Baptist Church, prior to declining health. She loved to sing and was active singing her whole life from choir in school to the church choir. Even as a shut-in she loved to listen and sing along with Gospel songs every week. She loved her pet poodles over the years and they were like family members. She loved crafts, sewing, cross stitch, knitting, and needle point and making hand made quilts. She later became interested in Western TV shows and movies, and you would always catch her watching one when you came over to visit.

She is survived by sons, Ronald Eugene Kidd of Kannapolis and Gerald Wayne Kidd (Teresa) of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Christopher Kidd, Traci Franklin (Zach), Jennifer Steedley (Josh); four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Isabelle, Sawyer, and Finley, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bryant Kidd, four brothers, Boyd Ray Mullis, Guy Howard Mullis, James Edward Mullis, William Thomas Mullis; and three sisters, Betty Jean Mullis Toogood, Ollie Lucille Mullis Laws, and Cora Lee Mullis Newell.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Central Baptist Church, 1810 Moose Road, Kannapolis NC. The funeral service will follow and begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Alan Reid and Rev. Mike Roper officiating. Burial will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
