Norma Evelyn (Starnes) Pichardo

Norma Evelyn Starnes Pichardo, 73, of Kannapolis, passed away November 28, 2021 at her home. She had many health problems and God decided her suffering was over. She was born on September 17, 1948 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Marvin and Evelyn Starnes. In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her first husband Terry Chapman, brother Sammy Starnes, sister Marianne Meyerholtz and her daughter Leighanne Chapman. Norma was a lifelong area resident and graduate of A. L. Brown High School. In earlier years, Norma worked for the Mill. Later she got her certification in childhood development and worked for a daycare center where she loved the children deeply. She loved her two fur babies, Thor and Thunder. She loved everyone as Jesus would love and she truly embodied the light of Christ. She was a light to all she met and she touched so many people. She had a truly beautiful soul.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Upright officiating. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM before the service.
Norma is survived by her husband, Manuel Pichardo Guerra; her daughter, Alisha Doby (Brock); her brother Travis Starnes; grandchildren Trevor Doby; Devin Doby; Lacie Hardy (Mike); Andy Sullivan (Megan); Patrick Chapman (Kimberlyn); Tyler Chapman(Tiffany) and many other nieces and nephews and extended family. And a special mention of her God daughter, Esmerelda Herrera and her mother Leticia Sanchez.
