Nancy Carol (Childers) Earley

Nancy Carol Childers Earley, 83, of Kannapolis passed away June 22, 2020.  She was born June 26, 1936 in Iredell County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Edna Sloop Childers.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Bobbie Jones. 

Nancy was a Registered Nurse having worked at various places throughout her lifetime, the last being the former Piedmont Pediatrics.  She was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church where she was very active in all phases of church activities including being a Sunday school teacher, a Children’s Church teacher, visiting shut-ins, being active in prayer groups and women’s circles, and enjoyed going on mission trips to West Virginia.  Nancy was a woman of faith and a strong prayer warrior. Nancy was also a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.  She loved spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens, but even more with family and friends, helping in any way she could. 

Funeral services will be held on June 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Shadybrook Baptist Church in Kannapolis officiated by Rev. Charlie Littlejohn.  Interment will be held at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.  Her family will receive friends on June 25, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. 

She is survived by her daughters, Elisa Bain (Jim), Cara Vanhoy (Tim), granddaughter, Hayley Vanhoy and sister, Glenda Childers.
