NEIL REED HUDSON

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Neil Reed Hudson, 48, of China Grove went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2019. Death was unexpected. Neil was born December 22, 1970 in Houston County. Ga., the son of Phil Reed and Jill Eagle Hudson of China Grove. Neil was a 1989 honor graduate of A.L. Brown High School and received his associate's degree from Rowan County Cabarrus Community College in 1991. Neil started helping his father at Phil's Brake and Alignment Service at age 13 and continued working there until his death. He liked classic cars. His first was a 1967 Chevelle SS which he and his father restored. Neil was very talented with automotive repairs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trips to the beach and lake. Family members left to cherish his memory in addition to his parents are one son, Devin Miles Hudson (Lianna) of Florida; grandmother, Geraldine Hudson of Kannapolis,four aunts; Bessie Hubbard of Kannapolis, Diane Steelman of Maryland,Jan Bryant (David) of Sherrill's Ford, and Colleen Eagle of Kannapolis, two uncles, Craig Hudson of Harrisburg, Gil (Bobbie) Hudson of Kannapolis., and a special cousin Beth Hubbard and numerous other cousins. He was preceded in death by Grandfather F.M. " Pete" Hudson, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Bernard Eagle, aunts Elaine Smith and Star Coley and uncle Don Eagle along with a special cousin Donnie Eagle. Funeral services for Neil will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Leon Simmons. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
