Myrna Dolores Brindle Brown, 80, of Kannapolis departed this earthly world to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family,
Myrna was born January 11, 1943, in Cabarrus County, NC, a daughter of the late Isaac Lafayette Brindle and the late Katherine Elizabeth Lewis Brindle. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Alfred Brown, who died January 15, 2012, a brother, Jerry Brindle, and a great granddaughter, Leary Cowden.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Clermont Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis where she had served in many positions in the church in her service to God.
She retired from Cannon Mills Plant #6, Weave Room. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
Family members left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Katrina Sorenson and husband Warren of Kannapolis, one son, Steve Brown and wife Laura of China Grove, a brother, Wilbur Brindle of Florida along with 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at First Baptist Church in China Grove conducted by Rev. Trent Drye and Pastor Leon Simmons. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
