Mitchell Paul Gibson

Mr. Mitchell Paul Gibson, 81, of Kannapolis passed away, Monday, June 20, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

Mitchell was born in Cabarrus County on September 29, 1940 to the late Nathan and Vera Gibson. He graduated from A.L. Brown High School and worked in sales and service for 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, gardening, and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Mitchell was married to Linda Smith Gibson on July 24, 1970; they were married 51 years.

Mitchell is survived by wife Linda S Gibson, sister Sherry G Schoolfield (Victor), daughters Elizabeth Halstenberg (William), Lisa Morris (Wayne), Lisa Tadlock (Jon), Leslie Hudson, and son Linny Gibson (Laurie); grandchildren Jacob, Hannah, Lauren, Brittany, Candice, Haley, Courtney, Morgan, Hunter, Mitchell, MacKenzie, Davis, and David; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents Nathan and Vera Gibson, brother Larry Wayne Gibson, and sister Lillie “Frankie” Foil.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 24, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at First Reformed Church in Landis. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm conducted by the Rev. David P. Franks. The burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to First Reformed Church, 210 N Central Ave, Landis, NC 28088.
