Michael “Mike” Ray Sechler, 61, of Salisbury, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
He was born on March 14, 1960 in Cabarrus County to the late James Ray Sechler and surviving mother, Linda Ewing Brown. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Jason Ray Sechler, and a brother, Dennis Scott Sechler.
Mike formerly worked as a technician for Cannon Mills for 14 years before becoming an offline mechanic at Freightliner for 12 years. He was a simple man who dearly loved his family. He especially loved to spend time with his children. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, collecting guns, and going fishing. He had a special place in his heart for his son’s Rottweiler, Axl.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 18 years, April Sprinkle Sechler; sons, Rocky Sechler, Jacob Sechler, and Brent Chapman, and grandchildren, Davon Sechler, Mallory Sechler, Damian Sechler, and Bailey Chapman.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Whitley’s Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Hanes officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family accepts visitors at the home in the days prior to the service.
