Michael (Mike) Linn McRorie, 61, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at his residence. Although some health issues were present, his death was unexpected.
He was preceded in death by sister, Renee Roseman, and daughter, Heather McRorie Roberts.
Michael was born on July 1, 1961 in Cabarrus County, NC and is survived by parents Marlene and Clarence Horton. In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his sisters, Jennifer Horton and Gina Morrow, his son, Phillip McRorie, and his partner, Bobbie Jean Talley.
Michael attended A.L. Brown High School and completed courses at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. He was an avid music player and listener, nature and animal lover, and all-around handyman. For many years, he operated Mike McRorie Painting and served the Cabarrus County area. Recently, he left the painting business and began working part time at the Gibson Mill Depot, which he enjoyed shopping at as well. Michael was a funny, caring, and adventurous man. He never missed the opportunity to crack a joke or help someone, or something, out. His mother often says, "If Michael can't fix it, no one can." Music was one of his favorite ways to pass the time - he played many instruments and never passed up an opportunity to see his favorite band, Blackberry Smoke. He also loved riding motorcycles, and almost always had a Harley Davidson to ride on. He left us with many precious memories and will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Whitley's Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
