Michael Kenny "Mike" Johnson, 53, died October 28, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus after a sudden illness.

Mike was born on July 11, 1968 in Norton, VA. He was the youngest of 11 children born to Teddy L. and Ramona Hinkle Johnson. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by all his siblings.
Mike was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during Operation Desert Shield /Storm. He was a member of American Legion Post 0106. After moving to Kannapolis, Mike worked for Johnson Concrete Comp, at both the Concord and Salisbury Plants, for 24 years and the last 3 years, working for Superior Walls in Salisbury. He was a strong believer in Jesus Christ. His love of family and sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Michael is survived by his wife of 33 years, Crystal Dawn Donnells Johnson and his sons, Greg and Mitch Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, November 8 at Whitley's Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, November 9, at the funeral home, with Rev. Mike Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
