Michael Wayne Jenkins

Michael Wayne Jenkins, 46, of Mooresville died unexpectedly March 5, 2021 at his residence.

Private memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.

Michael was born November 5, 1974 in Mecklenburg Co., a son of the late Kenneth Wayne Jenkins Sr. and Gloria Carver Grooms of Kannapolis. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his brother Richard Barbee.

Michael was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a sheet rock installer for various local contractors, building many local homes. He enjoyed music, concerts, camping, fishing and just working in the yard at home. His true passion was building.

Michael was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife Heather Kincaid, his son Austin Jenkins and his daughter Kayla Jenkins; all of the family home, his mother Gloria Grooms and his brother Kenneth Wayne Jenkins Jr., both of Kannapolis and his sister Sabrina McGaha (Robert) of Temple GA. He also leaves behind two nieces, Amber and Megan and three nephews, Travis, Cody and Michael and their children.
