Mary Jo (Harris) Gill

Concord-

     Mary Jo Gill, 91, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 14, 1928 in Weirton, WV, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Mary Ann Young Harris.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Gill, Sr.

Mrs. Gill had been employed with TRW for many years, where she was a respected and knowledgeable inspector. Her life story would be incomplete without sharing the wonderful love she had for all of her family. An amazing cook, she delighted in seeing the enjoyment she brought to those who enjoyed her gift of cooking.  A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Mrs. Gill be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family members left with cherished memories include her children, Mary Ann Baisden, of Mentor, OH, Deborah Lee Patterson and Ken Gill (Carolyn), both of Concord, NC; 11 grandchildren; 28 Great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Friday and 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  Funeral services to remember and celebrate Mrs. Gill’s life will begin at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 2nd, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Ron Hartman.  Mrs. Gill will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park.
