Mary Caroline Campbell

Mary Caroline Campbell, 98, of Gastonia went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2020.

Born in Robinsville, NC,  on October 16, 1921, she witnessed incredible changes in her world. Mary was a deaf mute and throughout her life she had many challenges with her disability. Once you got to know her, she was very funny and had a wonderful attitude.  She grew her own food, and canned what she could. She also amazed others with her sewing skills by producing hundreds of quilts and her own clothing. Mary was known to be a hard worker and spent almost 50 years producing textiles in the local mills.

Mary is pre-deceased by her parents Chester and Bertha Campbell, two sisters: Maggie Sisk, Ethel Leatherman, and two brothers: James Campbell, and Alfred Campbell.

Those left to mourn her loss are, a Niece Brenda (Rick) Blanton, and a sister Ruth Queen.

She will be remembered as a loving and devoted aunt.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Stanley Total Living Center for their devoted and loving care.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00am, Monday, February 17, 2020  at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis NC.
