Marshall Childers

Wesley “Marshall” Childers, 53, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, July 15, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Born December 9, 1968, in Gaston County, Marshall was a son of Kenneth and Alice Sanders Childers. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Cory Cantrell.

Marshall was a loyal employee of Nouryon Chemicals for the last 18 years, earlier working for Sandoz Chemicals. He was a member of New Hope Independent Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. A true witness and servant of the Lord, Marshall was always smiling and never met a stranger.  He also enjoyed deer hunting, camping, his guns, four wheeling and spending time with his family. Marshall will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Loving family members, in addition to his parents, include his wife of 30 years, Samantha Henry Childers; his sons, Brian Childers (Becca) and Kenny Woodward; brother, Dean Childers (Teresa); his sister, Donna Childers; grandchildren, Grayleigh Parks and KJ Woodward; nephews, Tyler and Matthew Childers, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 12:00-2:00 pm at New Hope Freewill Independent Baptist Church in Concord.  Services to remember and celebrate Marshall’s life will begin at 2:00 pm, conducted by Roger Bostic, Pastor. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
