Marilyn (Carpenter) Reeves

Marilyn Carpenter Reeves, 84, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2022 following a period of declining health.

Marilyn was born January 18, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was the daughter of the late James R. Bennett and Helen Cook Bennett. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Melvin Carpenter, who died August 28, 2001. He was the father of their two daughters, Rhonda and Kelly. Also preceding her in death was her twin sister, Carolyn Davis.

Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of eight years, Kenneth Reeves of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Goodman and husband Tim of Kannapolis and Kelly Bost and husband Brad of Concord; four grandchildren, Josh Copeland, Taylor (Bryan) Campbell, Haley Bost, and Reece Bost; and two great grandchildren, Nolan Miller Campbell and Delaney Campbell. Also left to cherish her memory include grandchildren by marriage, Kyle Oliphant, Joyel Oliphant, Allison Oliphant (Brent Harrison), and Cameron Oliphant. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jon Harless and Rev. Jim Grigg. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Landis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.

Marilyn was a proud member of The Brook Church in China Grove, where she was active as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters and spending time with her loving husband and family. Her happiest days were at home spending fun times with her grandchildren and watching them grow.
