Maralyn Ruth (Welch) Morris

Maralyn Welch Morris went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2023 (seven years after her husband Harry Morris).  She was 89 years old.  She is survived by her four children Tom Morris (grandchildren Josh, Tim, Melissa Pirkle); Cindy Morris (granchildren Donna Godbee, Cara Overbey, Hannah Linn, Joe Overbey); John Morris (grandchildren Richard, Angela and Michael); and Mary Morris.  (Maralyn’s family of origin includes her parents Ray and Clara Welch, and siblings Betty and Robert).

A memorial service to celebrate Maralyn's life will be held at 1:00 PM Friday. May 5 at Northwest Baptist Church in Concord.

Maralyn loved her family most of all.  She supported and helped her husband Harry on the farms in AL and NC. She loved being homemaker and playing piano.  Vocationally she was a Registered Nurse.   She was known for her championship sheltie collies and rag doll kittens.  She loved Jesus and was active with Harry at Hickory Grove church and then at Northwest Baptist Church.  She adored flowers and birds, and even liked the annoying squirrels that graced the trees on their farm.  Maralyn made an impact on all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.  “Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is in me bless His Holy Name” (Psalm 103:2).
