Loretta Marie (Sechler) Storey

Loretta Marie Storey, 88, passed away Tuesday evening, October 27, 2020 at Big Elm Nursing Home, Kannapolis, NC, where she had been a resident for almost three years.

She was born on January 21, 1932 in Wilkes County and was a life-long resident of North Carolina. Loretta was the daughter of Blanche Mae Ross Rogers Sechler and Homer Franklin Sechler. She was educated in Kannapolis City Schools and resided in the Kannapolis/China Grove area most of her life.

Loretta was a mother and homemaker in her early adult years and worked in the textile industry when her children reached school age, retiring from Draymore Manufacturing Corp. of Mooresville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Cannon Storey, her siblings, Claudia B. Rogers, John Albert Sechler, and Linda May Sechler, and grandson Allen McClendon.

Surviving are her children, Beverly Gail McClendon, Michael Cannon Storey (Ann), and Sherry Ross Watson (Terry); grandchildren, Sabrina Kerley (Steve), James Ballard (Susan), David Storey (Nikki), Chris Cooper (Michelle), Eric Storey (Alex), and Kelly Hammond (Todd); great-grandchildren, Zack McClendon, Caroline Storey, Colin Storey, Charley Storey, Colton Ballard (Sarah), Jessica Ballard, Lainey Ballard, Korbynne Hill, Mattison Cochran, Keltie Cochran, and Blake Cooper, Hayden Hammond, Hensley Hammond; and one great-great grandchild Caylee Ballard.

A private family graveside service will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove with Rev. Ronald Cooper officiating.
