Lisa Ann Murphy Long, 51, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her residence. Death was unexpected.
Lisa was born April 23, 1970 in Guilford County, NC a daughter of Jerry Allen Murphy of Taylorsville and Susan Jane Clark Murphy of Kannapolis.
Lisa was a 1989 graduate of Central Cabarrus and received her associate’s degree from Rowan County Community College. She enjoyed crafts, painting, and considered being at Badin Lake with her lake friends her happy place.
Funeral services to celebrate Lisa’s’ life will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Joel Irvin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 30 years, Kenneth “Ken” Long of the home, along with a son, Joshua Long of the home. She is also survived by a half-brother, Wesley Murphy of Michigan, her paternal grandmother; Glenda Long of Kannapolis and her step-mother Alicia Murphy of Taylorsville.
