Laura "Sissy" Ellen (Powell) Siddall

Laura “Sissy” Ellen Powell Siddall, 63, of Kannapolis went to her heavenly home on May 14, 2023.

Laura was born on January 18, 1960 in Cabarrus County.

In her early career, she worked for Piedmont Cleaners. She went on to work for Philip Morris and retired after 20 years. Most recently, she enjoyed working as a manager at Walgreens.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading novels and especially liked the Cape Refuge Series by Terri Blackstock. She loved spending time outdoors with her flowers and loved mowing grass. She was a faithful Christian who loved bible study and was an active member of Rodgers Park Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 11 years, Jimmy Siddall; mother, Margaret Shultze; daughter, Christie Upright and husband, Christopher Tilley; three grandchildren, Merissa Tilley, Morgan Tilley, and Christian Tilley; four brothers, Ricky Powell, Darrell Barbee, Michael Barbee and wife Tera, Brian Barbee and wife Chrissie, and a sister, Tina Deason.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow and begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Whitley’s Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Ervin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rodgers Park Baptist Church, 309 E 24th Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
