Lane Allen Corl

Lane Allen Corl, 78, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, following a period of declining health.

Born January 25, 1943, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late William Ray and Mary Pearl Troutman Corl.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Corl, on August 12, 2020 and a brother, Joe Corl.

Mr. Corl had worked as an operator for many years at Cannon Mills. Lane was a loving brother, father, and friend. He loved all of his family and enjoyed time spent with them. He was an avid college sports fan. Mr. Corl loved the Carolina Tarheels and attended Phaniels Baptist Church.  He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Family members left with cherished memories include his sons, Robert “Bryan” Corl and wife, Shanda McKinney Corl, Brent Jefferson Corl and wife, Michelle and Erick Layne Corl (Jackie); his sister, Pat Moser; grandchildren, Mason Corl, Jathan and Emma Corl; nieces and nephews, Neil Moser (Kelly), Amanda Kenworthy (John), Kelly Lowman (Mike), Brad Corl (Taylor), sister-in-law, Narrie Corl; great nieces and nephews and extended family members.    

A memorial graveside service to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Corl will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Phaniels Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Michael Taylor, Pastor.
