Kenneth (Kenny) McCombs

Kenneth (Kenny) Baxter McCombs, 73, of Kannapolis went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 6, 2022. He was born May 15, 1949 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Cecil and Jane McCombs.

Kenny retired as an inspector for the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors.  Prior to that, he worked for the Cabarrus County Building Inspection Department.  He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard for 6 years. Kenny’s passion was working with his hands building homes and various woodworking items. He was an avid sports and car enthusiast. 

He was a man of great faith and member of Westford United Methodist Church in Concord where he taught Sunday School, gave devotions at the church Pantry of Love, and loved to help with the Upward Basketball program.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Betty Blalock McCombs.  Those left to cherish his memory are his sons Brett McCombs (Chante) and Steven McCombs, his precious grandchildren Kellan McCombs and Kaitlin McCombs.  He is also survived by his best friend and brother Willard McCombs (Virginia) and sister Jane Ellen McCombs McLawhorn (Dennis), numerous brother and sister in laws as well as nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Westford United Methodist Church in Concord. His family will visit with friends from 2:00 to 3:00 at the church. Committal will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
