Kay F. Long-Yow

Kay F. Long-Yow, 82, of Kannapolis, went to be with The Lord on March 25th, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Kay was born on January 18th, 1942 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to the late George Lee Long and the late Katherine Mae Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Leon Long, Kenneth “Butch” Long, and Donnie Long. Her baby girl, Monica Lunsford. As well as three grandsons, Matthew Wojciechowski, Dustin Downer, and Daniel Downer and one granddaughter, Samantha Lunsford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Dolores Hill, Malinda Richards and Jamie Karriker. Her two brothers, Eugene Long and wife Janice, and Harold Long. Her children Kathy
Lunsford-Wojciechowski and husband Marty. Daughter Pam Lunsford-Downer and husband Fred. Son Ronnel Lunsford and husband Mike. Son Marcus Lunsford. As well as a sister-in-law, Glenda Long. Kay had 9 grandchildren, 5 of them left here to remember her are Shanna Stewart-Russ and husband Andrew, Amanda Marlow and husband David, Marcus Lunsford and wife Taylor, Corey Wojciechowski and Brandon Wojciechowski. She also is remembered by 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Kay also is survived by a number of nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.

Kay was loved by all, and enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church and praising the Lord, reading the newspaper, getting her hair done, and going shopping.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Whitley's Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow and being at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. James Hazel Rollings and Rev. Joel Ervin officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
