Kathleen Maroney Zimmerman Obituary

Kathleen Maroney Zimmerman, 73, of Kannapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

Kathleen was born on March 22, 1949 in Buffalo, NY to the late Edward Maroney and Stella “Sally” Lipiec Maroney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Hartman.

Kathleen had a passion for education. She spent her career as a social studies teacher for 30 years and most recently taught at C.C. Griffin Middle School. She dearly loved spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jeffrey (June) Zimmerman; daughter, Katherine (Matthew) Bower; five grandchildren, Grace Bower, Zadie Zimmerman, Anna Bower, Snow Zimmerman, and JJ Zimmerman.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Buffalo, New York.
