Judy Frances Byrd

Judy Frances Byrd, 67 years old, of China Grove, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on July 12, 2022.  Judy was born on December 24, 1954 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Elliott and Annie Preslar Byrd.

Judy attended South Rowan High School, where she played basketball.  She enjoyed playing softball as well.  Judy was a people person, who loved to sing gospel music and play guitar.  Judy worked for Linn-Corriher and Cannon Mills for over 20 years before going to work for M&K BBQ in Granite Quarry.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, her brothers-in-law, Frankie Morton and Paul Cook, and her great-niece, Sarah Cook.  Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Karen L. Byrd and Patricia Childress and her husband Kenneth “Happy”, her nieces, Donna Cook and Becky Tilley and her husband Jeff and her nephew, Austin Tilley.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home from 2:30-3:30PM.  Funeral service to begin at 3:30pm with Rev. Curtis Parker officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made in Judy’s memory to the Rowan County Animal Shelter, 1465 Julian Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146.
