Jimmy Darrell Bonds, 66 of Charlotte, formerly of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2022 at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte following a period of declining health.

Jimmy was born September 12, 1955 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late James Horace Bonds and Wanda Mae Russell Bonds.

Jimmy was a 1973 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a self-employed welder.

He loved his grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 18, 2022 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Dr. Joel Ervin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the graveside service.

Survivors include one daughter, Shelia Bonds of Ft. Mill, SC. He is also survived by three grandsons, Evan Broome, Jaiden Bonds and Devon Bonds. Also surviving is one sister, Sandra Bonds of Kannapolis, a brother-in-law, Roy Greer of Charlotte and his significant other; Christine Iovino of Charlotte.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave #100, Charlotte, NC 28207 or to the Church of God Children’s Home, 3485 Orphanage Circle, Concord, NC 28027.
