Jimmie Claude Higgins, 76, of China Grove died Monday, December 20, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus after a period of declining health.
A funeral service will be held at Landis Baptist Church at 12 Noon on Monday, December 27 with Rev. Mike Austin officiating. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Salisbury at a later date. His family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12 noon before the funeral.
Jimmie was born April 24, 1945 in Wilkes Co., a son of the late Claude and Lorene Martin Higgins. He graduated from West Rowan and was a proud veteran of the US Army, he was a combat veteran of Vietnam War and belonged to the local VFW.
Jimmie was a longtime member of Landis Baptist Church and a longtime automotive garage business owner in Rowan County. He was the "Subaru Man" for the Piedmont of North Carolina. Jimmie was an avid Classic Car collector and enjoyed drag racing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Judy Ann Correll Higgins of the home, his sons; Jason Correll Higgins (Christi) of China Grove and Jon Clayton Higgins (Brooke) of Carolina Beach, His sisters; Eve H. Miller and Karen Higgins, both of Asheville and his brother, Roger Wayne Higgins of Hawaii, his grandchildren; Clay, Miranda and Jacob Higgins, Brittany Dietz (Jacob), Kristen Thomas (Chad) and Brandon and Dylan Park and his four great-grandchildren; Bailee, Brody, Camden and Aubrey.
