"Jerry" Wayne Parker

“Jerry” Wayne Parker, Jr., 54, of Concord went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis. He had been in declining health but seriously ill only one month.

Jerry was born March 27, 1967 Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Jerry Wayne Parker, Sr. and Georgia Johnston Parker.

Jerry was a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School. He was a member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church in Concord where he drove the church bus and worked with the youth of the church.

He was owner/operator of Parker Truck and Equipment Repair. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Matthew Tucker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.

Family members left to cherish his memory include two sons, Jeremy Parker and wife Alison of Concord, Wayne Parker and wife Mallory of Gold Hill, three daughters; Brittney Chapman of Concord, Samantha Chapman and husband Luke of Ft. Polk, La. and Jessica Helms and husband Dustin of Salisbury. He is also survived by one sister, Wendy Isenhour and husband Rhett of Lincolnton and one brother John Paul Parker of Louisiana. Nine grandchildren also survive; Jayce, Iyla, Caiden, Killian, Keegan, Braedon, Lexi, Lucy, and Paisley with one grandchild on the way.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to GIST Cancer Research Fund, 3905 N.E. 167th Street, North Miami Beach, Florida 33160.
