Jane (Waggoner) Evans

Jane Waggoner Evans, 83, of Kannapolis, passed away Monday December 26, 2022 at home after a period of declining health. Born November 28, 1939 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Eula Lipe Waggoner.

During her working years, Jane owned and operated her own beauty salon, before going to work at Cannon Mills and eventually at a daycare center. She enjoyed playing piano, guitar, fiddle, and banjo, gardening and crocheting.

She will be missed immensely and her “happy memories” will be cherished by those she leaves behind, including her children, Cindy Bean and husband Richard, Tina Sechler and husband Steve, and Brad Evans and wife Shelia all of Kannapolis; six grandchildren, Johnathan, Megan, Kelly and husband Justin, Garrett and wife Ariel, Leslie and husband Cody, Bryan and wife Brooke; 2 great grandchildren, Carleigh and Beauden; and her favorite canine companion Gabby.

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl R. Evans in 2016 and six siblings, Lloyd, Melvin, Richard and James Waggoner, Carolyn Brown and Ann Davis.

A funeral service to honor Jane’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Chapel, Kannapolis. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. Pastor Chris Daniel and Rev. Ron Touchton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.  – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service Thursday at Whitley’s.
