Jamie Allen Hunter

Jamie Allen Hunter, 40, of Landis died at Novant Health Presbyterian in Charlotte on May 12, 2021. His death was unexpected.

His funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 18 at Whitley’s Funeral Chapel­­ with Dennis Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday.

Jamie was born January 28, 1981 in Cabarrus Co., the son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. and Kathy Parson Hunter of Landis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Candace Bare Hunter, who passed in 2020.

Jamie was a life-long area resident and attended S. Rowan High School in his youth. He was a hard-working carpenter and roofer for various local construction companies. He loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Jamie was a loving father, son, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed.

Those who remain to cherish his memories in addition to his parents include his fiancée, Shania M. Dixon, his 5 children, Mercedes D. Perry  (Dylan), Sophia, Stella and Presley Hunter and Tyler Evans, his sister Carie Wilhite (Travis) of China Grove, as well as two nieces, Brittany Jackson (Davey) and Breleigh Beaver.

Jamie was really excited about becoming a grandfather for the first time, with the birth of Bentley Allen Perry , who is due in late June.
