Kelly Nickelson
James Kelly Nickelson, 51, of Kannapolis gained his angel wings and went to be with his Lord on January 16, 2022. Kelly was born February 25, 1970 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Judy Ann Nickelson.
Kelly had worked at several places in his earlier years including Cannon Mills, for the NC Dept of Transportation and was a security guard. Kelly liked to cook, dance, karate and was an avid gunsmith. He was a Mason with the Cannon Memorial Masonic Lodge.
A graveside service to celebrate Kelly’s life will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, January 20th at Carolina Memorial Park (Fountain Section) officiated by Rev. Lucas Safrit.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Julie Poteat Nickelson, children, Judy Ann Nickelson, James Leeroy Sartain, Jacob Elijah Nickelson, Jeremiah Lawson Nickelson and sister, Penny Ann Swink.
