James Manuel Drye

James Manuel Drye, 73 years old, of Concord, previously of Kannapolis, passed away on January 19, 2023.  James was born on July 16, 1949, in Cabarrus County to the late Arthur James and Ruby Furr Drye.

James loved to hunt, fish, motorcycles, and doing body work and painting cars. He was a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus 1967 alumni.  

James was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers, Larry, and Alvin Drye.  Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jeremy Scott Drye; his daughter, Deanna Lee Drye; his sisters, Connie Goodman, Zelly James, Cindy Drye, and Holly Drye; his grandson, Matthew “Austin” Coppedge; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 1-2pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home with a 2pm funeral service in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. John Lindsay.  Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
