James Edward Burr Sr.

James Edward Burr Sr., 70, of Morganton and formerly of Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

James was born on October 1, 1950 in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Boyd Burr and Clara Butler Burr.

James honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. James enjoyed working with horses on an equestrian ranch. James enjoyed playing golf, watching baseball, and College Basketball. He was an avid Duke fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, James E. Burr Jr., three grandchildren, Austin Burr, Christopher (Kayln) Burr, and Dustin Burr; great-granddaughter, Georgia Rayne Burr; and mother of his son, Janet Burr.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC, 28144 with military honors.
