James Asper Jones

James Asper Jones, 83, of Concord, passed away Saturday January 2, 2021 at Atrium Health – Stanley. Born August 16, 1937 in Robinson County, NC, he was a son of the late Richard and Mary Dial Jones.  

During his working years, James was the owner/operator of a sanitation company. He also performed the mechanical work on the businesses’ fleet of vehicles. He enjoyed fishing, attending any and all fairs, and NASCAR.

James is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Jeanette Prince Jones; two children, Jeffery Scott Jones and Rhonda Denise Jones, both of Concord; and five siblings, Yoma Jane Thompson, Anderson Jones, Barbara Ann Jones Burnett, Jimmy Jones, and Mary Ellen Jones Hunt.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Asper Jones; a brother, Phil Jones; and three sisters, Rosa Lee Jones Blue, Emma Jones Beck and Lucy Jones Massey.

A graveside service to honor his life will be held 2:00PM Friday January 8, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park. Pastor Phil Long will officiate.
